Th Satyabrata conferred with "Khongul Leeba" title

Thokchom Satyabrata, Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, was honoured with the title of "Khongul Leeba" by the United Club of Yaiskul, in recognition of his efforts towards the preservation & protection of Leng Ondabi Pat, Cachar, Assam.
United Club of Yaiskul president, Chandan Surajit; Maharaja Narasingh Memorial Committee general secretary, RK Priyokumar; Athoubasingi Liklam Thiba Lup president, Nando Thokchom; Leng Ondabi Pat Preservation & Development Society Assam general secretary, Sougaijam Ranbir; Thokchom (o) Ranjana, wife of Thokchom Satyabrata and hundreds of people from Yaiskul and nearby areas participated in the programme held at SEACO Community Hall, Yaiskul Janmasthan today.
Speaking at the event, Th Satyabrata said that Leng Ondabi Pat holds a unique and crucial place in Manipur's history.
"It was here that Maharaja Gambhir Singh and Maharaja Nara Singh made a pivotal commitment to liberate Manipur from Burmese occupation during the Seven Years Devastation period", he added.
He asserted that the present generation should emulate the courage of the forefathers and show resilience when faced with difficulties and stand firm in their convictions for the greater good.
Th Satyabrata also expressed desire to preserve & develop other sites of historical importance such as the Awa Palli and Manipur Levy Ground in Chandrapur.
Notably, Thokchom Satyabrata and his wife Thokchom (o) Ranjana played a pivotal role in acquiring/purchasing land (1,44,000 sq ft) for the Leng Ongdabi Pat.
