MP waits for people's response to PM's visit

Addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speculated visit to the State, Inner Manipur Constituency MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam has expressed curiosity to see how the people of Manipur receive and respond to his visit.
He made the remark while answering questions from the media after inaugurating a Sanitary Pad Vending Machine & Incinerator at GP Women's College today as the chief guest.
Keeping in mind the two year long conflict and the State's suffering, including deaths, injuries and displacements, he conveyed keenness to assess the political consciousness of the people of Manipur in the backdrop of the Prime Minister's visit and further make observations, not only as an MP but as a common citizen, on the way Manipuri people are perceived by the outside world.
The Congress MP reiterated that the Prime Minister owes the people of Manipur an apology.
The inaugural event was accompanied by a one-day National seminar on "Challenging Myths: Beyond Menstrual Hygiene" .
At the event, the MP said that the seminar was organised in collaboration with the English Department of GP Women's College to bring awareness to the students on the issues of gender, sexuality, sanitary hygiene etc.
Notable dignitaries include Professor L Rajendra, Principal, GP Women's College and Dr Sobhana Laishram, Associate Professor & Head, Department of English, GP Women's College as presidium members.
