Sampoornata Abhiyan launched in 'Aspirational District' Chandel

Chandel Deputy Commissioner Mayanglambam Raj Kumar today launched the Sampoornata Abhiyan at Multipurpose Hall, Mini Secretariat in Chandel District Headquarter today.
Notably, Chandel district was picked among the 112 Aspirational Districts and 500 Aspirational Blocks under the Aspirational Districts Programme and Aspirational Blocks Programme for the Sampoornata Abhiyan launched by National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) for the three-month campaign from July 4 to September 30.The launching event at Chandel was organised by District Administration Chandel, under the initiative of NITI Aayog, Government of India.
Speaking at the function, Chandel Deputy Commissioner said that the idea of launching the Sampoornata Abhiyan is to saturate the five specified indicators on themes such as health, nutrition, social welfare, education and agriculture within a span of three months through an action plan systematically.
The DC stated that Sampoornata Abhiyan mainly focuses on achievement through systematic services with a mission mode priority on the five given indicators.
He appealed to all the District Level Officers under Chandel District Administration to work sincerely to achieve the said goal within the three month time and urged them to come forward for further discussion regarding any challenges they face.
He also appealed to the Health and ICDS staff of Chandel district to work in close coordination for proper implementation of the pregnant women supplementary nutrition programme and urged all the District Administration officials present at the function to prepare a proper task for the smooth implementation of Sampoornata Abhiyan.

The DC also distributed Soil Health Cards to ten farmers as part of the launching programme.
In addition, screening for diabetes and hypertension, soil testing, opening of ICDS counter, and Sampoornata pledge led by the DC were the other main highlights of the function.
