Moirang, June 04 2026:
Laishram Ongbi Priya, daughter of the late Pukhram Premkumar, has appealed to authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into her father's murder suggesting that others may have been involved in addition to her mother, who has been arrested in connection with the case.
Premkumar was fatally stabbed by his wife, Manitombi, on May 30 at a hotel in Moirang Lamkhai Tiddim Road.
Speaking to the media at her father's residence in Moirang Municipal Council Ward No 10, Priya, accompanied by family members, said she suspects that the killing may have involved additional individuals.
"Before the incident, I had visited my paternal home.
The following day, after an altercation between my father and mother at the hotel, my father was stabbed to death, and my mother has since been sent to jail," she stated.
"However, we believe that others may also have been involved in this brutal act" .
Priya stated that as like other families, occasional fights do occur sometimes, but emphasized that nothing of such brutality had ever happened before.
She also expressed concern over the response of the hotel owner and witnesses present during the incident, alleging that no one raised an alarm or attempted to intervene.
She added that blood at the scene was cleaned, and the knife allegedly used in the stabbing was found discarded in a dustbin, raising doubts about the circumstances of the murder.
"Given these facts, it is possible that my mother did not act alone," Priya said.
"I appeal to the authorities to investigate the matter sincerely, apprehend all involved, and ensure stringent punishment under the law" .
