Kakching, August 03 2026: A joint meeting of head teachers-in-charge of various government schools under the Zonal Education Office, Kakching, was held today, during which several resolutions were adopted concerning the functioning of government schools in the district.

The meeting resolved to appeal to concerned individuals and organisations to stop any form of unauthorised collection of donations or demands that adversely affect the routine functioning of schools and cause harassment to teachers.

It also decided to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the need for filling vacant posts of headmasters and headmistresses in government schools at the earliest, stating that the absence of regular heads was affecting the smooth progress of academic and other school-related activities.

The meeting further urged the government to release the pending funds that have been utilised for feeding students under the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme, reportedly pending for the past 16 months.
