Dr Khumallambam Sarojini condoled

The Apunba Imagi Machasing (AIMS), Manipur has expressed profound sadness and condolence over the untimely demise of Dr Khumallambam Sarojini, retired Director of Arts and Culture, Government of Manipur and former Secretary of the Manipur State Kala Akademi.
Dr Sarojini passed away on the morning of July 2, 2024 .
According to a release issued by AIMS, Dr Sarojini's enduring legacy in the preservation and promotion of Manipur's rich cultural heritage is a testament to her tireless dedication and passion.
Her extensive efforts in collecting Puya manuscripts and historical materials from Myanmar, Tripura, Bangladesh, and the United Kingdom have ensured that "our" cultural history is well-preserved for future generations.
Dr Sarojini's contributions extended beyond "our" borders, notably presenting books and CDs to S Neill, Curator for Asian Book Selection at the British Library during her visit to the UK.
Dr Sarojini's vision brought the pony project to Marjing, and her pivotal role in integrating Thang Ta, a traditional martial art form, into the school syllabus has enriched the education of countless students.
Her legacy will continue to inspire and remind us of the importance of cultural preservation.
Further, AIMS prayed that may her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory forever serve as a beacon of dedication and love for "our" cultural heritage.
Moreover, the Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) has also expressed deep sorrow and pain over the demise of Dr Khumallambam Sarojini and stated that her death has left a huge vacuum which would be difficult to fill by anyone.
In a release, KIMACS also extended its deepest condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that may her soul rest in peace.
