MSA exposes WAQF Board 'Shocking irregularities', demands clarification

Imphal, April 03 2026: The Minorities Students' Association (MSA).

Manipur, has raised serious concerns regarding alleged irregularities within the WAQF Board, Manipur, following an investigation into various recruitments and the management of schools and Madrasas under the board's purview.

At a press briefing held at the Manipur Press Club today, MSA president Ph Ljuj Ahamad recounted the MSA's earlier press brief on March 29, where they sought public explanations from the board on its recruitment announcements.

Despite our request, no clarification has been issued till date, he stated, warning that the board's silence could trigger "unpleasant sequences".

Ahamad revealed shocking irregularities in the MSA's investigation, including teachers posted to nonexistent Madrasas, WAQF Project Officers doubling as school Principals, and subject teachers were appointed without public advertisements, violating procedures and risking the board's collapse.

He also condemned supporters of the WAQF chairman for allegedly misrepresenting MSA's efforts to enforce rules, insisting the association would not tolerate interference.

We will continue monitoring all schools and Madrasas under the board closely and update the public regularly, Ahamad affirmed.

Ahamad further called upon the public and other organisations in Manipur to cooperate and support MSA's initiative to address official misconduct and infrastructural shortcomings within the WAQF Board.
