T Pritam Singh calls on Secretary, Higher Education, Govt of India

T Pritam Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Tinsukia Region, paid a courtesy call on Dr Vineet Joshi.
Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India on Friday.
During the interaction, important matters concerning the development of education in the North Eastern region, with special emphasis on Manipur, were discussed.
As per release issued by Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1 Imphal, Pritam Singh apprised Dr Joshi of the ongoing initiatives of KVS to expand access to quality education across the North East by establishing a greater number of Kendriya Vidyalayas.
He highlighted the proposals to open new Kendriya Vidyalayas in several districts of Manipur, including Senapati, Kakching, Thoubal, Kamjong and other underserved regions where KVs are yet to be established.
The proposed expansion is expected to significantly enhance access to quality education, benefiting students and strengthening the educational landscape of these areas.
He also informed Dr Joshi about the construction of permanent buildings of several Kendriya Vidyalayas of Tinsukia Region that is currently underway such as KV No 1 Imphal (Lamphelpat), KV No 2 Imphal (Langjing), KV No 3 Imphal (Leimakhong), KV Ukhrul, KV Tamenglong, KV Dibrugarh.

Additionally, T Pritam pointed out the acute shortage of regular staff members including teachers, Principals and office staff that most KVs in Tinsukia Region are facing at present and sought assistance from Dr Joshi in addressing the matter.
Dr Vineet Joshi appreciated the visit and assured T Pritam that he will do his utmost to ensure that assistance and support from MOE is extended in resolving all issues so that the education system in the North East and Manipur can develop and be at par with the best in the country.
