SIR claims, objections filing in Jiribam to end on Aug 4: DEO Jiribam

The period for filing claims and objections under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Jiribam district will conclude on August 4, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (DEO) Arvind Hanglem said on Friday.
Addressing the media at his office, the DEO said a total of 1,930 Forms 6, 7 and 8 relating to claims and objections had been received so far.
He urged electors to submit their claims and objections by the August 4 deadline.
He said disposal of claims and objections would continue until September 2, following which the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on September 6, 2026.The DEO further said that as part of post-draft activities, Forms 9, 10,11, 11A and 11B were handed over to representatives of political parties in the district at the District Headquarters on July 30 by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of 40-Jiribam Assembly Constituency.
The DEO further informed that the concerned EROs, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), election officials, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisors conducted a series of hearings for "No Mapping" cases at the District Headquarters from July 22 to 29.He thanked all BLOs, local clubs, electors and the public for their cooperation in the successful conduct of the hearings.
Those who were unable to attend their No Mapping hearings physically were provided a second opportunity to appear in accordance with Election Commission of India guidelines, he added.
The DEO added that the ECI has appointed Robert Kshetrimayum, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Government of Manipur, as Electoral Roll Observer for Jiribam district.
Robert is scheduled to make his first visit to the district in this connection on August 2.During the visit, he will inspect the ongoing SIR activities along with district election officials and meet representatives of political parties.
