CCpur, December 31 2025:
An ambulance belonging to the Young Mizo Association met with a tragic accident on Wednesday early morning, resulting in the death of its driver, Lamlalsang, and handyman, Jimmy Nengsuanpau.
The incident reportedly occurred when the ambulance plunged into a river near Teijangkot village.
The bodies of the two deceased were recovered from the river early this morning after local villagers noticed the submerged vehicle and carried out rescue efforts.
The ambulance was later pulled out from the river, where it had been partially submerged.
According to sources, the ambulance was transporting a dead body from Churachandpur to Moreh at the time of the accident, which is believed to have occurred around 1 am.
There were no eyewitnesses to the incident.
Sources further indicated that dense fog in the area may have caused the driver to misjudge the river crossing point, leading to the accident.
The bodies of the deceased were brought back to Churachandpur around noon on Wednesday and are currently kept at the Churachandpur District Hospital mortuary.
