Security forces recover arms and ammunition from CCpur

Imphal, July 30 2025: Security forces recovered a large number of arms and ammunition from Churachandpur district today.

From Tollen village and adjoining area under Churachandpur police station, security forces recovered three Single Barrel Rifles, four 12 Bore cartridges, one Pompi, four Pompi bullets, one live 7.62mm round, two 5.56mm empty cases and four tear smoke munition, said police control room.

From Dampi ridge near general area of Songphel, under Churachandpur PS, security forces recovered fourteen Single Barrel Rifles, one Pistol with magazine, one Pompi, nine IEDs, eight Pompi ammunition, twenty-three 12 Bore cartridges, ten .303 live ammunition, one 9 mm live ammunition, three .303 blank ammunition, three helmets and two Boafeng radio sets.

From Buallian village under Churachandpur PS, police recovered three country made Single Barrel Rifles, one country made Pistol.

From Langathel Hangoipat, under Khongjom PS, police recovered four SLRs and eight SLR magazines.

Today, security forces also arrested one KCP (PWG) cadre identified as Md Azam (23) of Khurai Thangjam Khunou Chingya Leikai from Kairang Chingya Leikai.

In a separate operation, security forced also arrested one RPF/PLA cadre identified as Konjengbam Jiten Singh (38) and his associate, Khongbantabam Priyobarta Meitei alias Tomba alias Abung - both residents of Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai.

They are involved in extortion activities, said the police.

Police also arrested one PREPAK (PRO) cadre identified as Ningombam Sanatomba Meitei (42) of Taothong Khunou - involved in extortion activities.
