A career counselling-cum-placement assistance programme was organised today by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the Career Counselling Guidance andPlacementCell(CCGPC)of Oriental College, Imphal in association with Helping Hands Career and IT Solutions OPC Ltd (HHCITS), Imphal at the College Conference Hall.
At the event, K Biplob Singha, Coordinator, IQAC, Oriental College spoke at length about the changing employment landscape in India.
He encouraged students to explore the potential of the corporate and private sectors while underlining the importance of developing soft skills, communication abilities, and workplace adaptability to enhance employability in today's globalized economy.
Resource person Khuraijam Sofia Chanu, Domain instructor of HHCITS delivered an engaging talk on emerging job opportunities in the aviation and hospitality sectors, highlighting the growing demand for trained professionals.
Ch Babyrose Devi, Hospitality Instructor of HHCITS discussed employment avenues in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and retail sectors, outlining the expanding scope for graduates in these fast-evolving industries.
Adding an entrepreneurial perspective to the event, Oinam Basanta, Proprietor of HHCITS, Imphal, shared his inspiring personal journey from being a student to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion session.
