Reacting to a news report published in State dailies on October 25 wherein demands were raised for transfer of chief medical Officer (CMO), Thoubal the Thoubal District medical Department Employees' Association has clarified that the CMO has nothing to do with collection or utilisation of OPD money (fee).
Collection of OPD fees is the concern of ticket staff of the said medical centre with utilisation of the collected amount entered in the bank account of a committee known as User Money, informed an Association release.
The collected amount with the knowledge and consent of the Hospital management Committee is utilised in the maintenance of the Hospital, it maintained while asking those are levelling charges against the CMO to substantiate their claim with proof.
The Association also demanded proof with regard to another allegation that the CMO had been deducting 50 percent of salary of absent (irregular) employees in addition to expressing resentment that allegations are being levelled against the CMO without any proof.
