Manipur HC Chief Justice launches Campus Wi-Fi, Tour Programme Management System

Imphal, August 28 2025: Justice Kempaiah Somashekar, Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur launched the Campus Wi-Fi and the Tour Programme Management System at the High Court of Manipur Complex in Imphal today.

The inaugural ceremony held at the lobby of Court Room No 1 was graced by dignitaries, including Justice A Bimol Singh, Judge, High Court of Manipur; Justice A Guneshwar Sharma, Judge, High Court of Manipur; Justice Golmei Gaiphulshillu, Director, Manipur Judicial Academy; and Ojesh Mutum, Registrar General, High Court of Manipur.

As per a release issued by the High Court of Manipur, the event began with a welcome address by K Nirojit, Registrar (Translation Wing)/ CPC, High Court of Manipur.

In his address, Justice Kempaiah Somashekar stressed on the need for all stakeholders to avail the benefits of the exponential growth of the information technology for easy access to the justice delivery system.

"As the High Court of Manipur moves forward with initiatives such as the implementation of a Mini Data Centre, E-office, Paperless Courts, Video Conferencing with live streaming for each courtroom, E-filing, Inventory Management Systems, Scanning and Digitization, etc, a reliable network infrastructure has become crucial", he added.

The Chief Justice also elaborated on the directions and guidelines given by the Supreme Court of India for enhancing the justice delivery system using information technology and artificial intelligence.

He asserted that the introduction of the Campus Wi-Fi facility will significantly enhance digital connectivity within the High Court premises, enabling seamless access to online legal resources and services to the members of the bar, litigants and the public.

"In this digital age, it is with the implementation of systems such as the Tour Programme Management System inaugurated today that the administration of judiciary will surely be more accountable, transparent and effective", said Justice Kempaiah Somashekar.

Lenin Singh Hijam, Advocate General, Government of Manipur; S Brajabihari Singh, Chairman, Bar Council of Manipur; N Kumarjit Singh, President, High Court Bar Association of Manipur; Ch Bimolchandra Singh, President, All Manipur Bar Association and other esteemed members of the bar and High Court Registry were also present at the event.

Notably, the Tour Programme Management System is aimed at streamlining administrative processes, improving coordination, and ensuring greater efficiency in managing judicial tour programmes and schedules.

This will provide a centralized and organised way to manage the official tours of the Chief Justice, Judges, and Judicial Officers.
