Awareness programme conducted

Imphal, August 28 2024:
The Department of Community Medicine and Department of Psychiatry, RIMS, Imphal, in collaboration with DM college of Arts organised an awareness programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan today.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ranachandra Nandeibam of Department of Community Medicine, RIMS, stressed on the need to curtail easy availability of substances commonly abused by college students, decrease demand of these substances by creating awareness and early detection, treatment and rehabilitation among students.
Dr Anil Kadwasra talked on temptations in campus, its impact and coping strategies to ward off substance abuse.
Prof Brogen Singh Akoijam of Community Medicine, Professor RK Lenin of Psychiatry and T Ranjit Singh, Principal of DM College of Arts moderated the discussion and presented insightful deliberations and emphasised on the need to translate discussion into tangible actions.
Following the interactive session, participants took the Nash Mukt Bharat Abhiyan pledge to contribute in all measures possible to make the State and Nation drug free.
The programme concluded with Dr Noni Arambam summarising the deliberations with context to the prevailing law and order situation/ civil disturbance, its impact amongst students with special reference to drug abuse.
