Womenfolk protest PR, security forces' actions

Thoubal, February 27 2025: Denouncing the imposition of the President's Rule in the State and frequent arrest of village volunteers by the security forces, Meira Paibis of Wangjing area staged a torch rally on Wednesday at Wangjing Keithel in Thoubal district.

Meira Paibis from different localities of Wangjing, Kairembikhok and Lamding gather at Wangjing Keithel and continue their rally towards YK College and Wangbal Canal shouting slogans like "Don't arrest village volunteers without any legit solution", "Arrest Kuki militants first", "We condemn India's Government nature", "We condemn imposition of PR", "Form Govt immediately", "Implement NRC immediately" "Withdraw PR from Manipur", etc before culminating at the starting point.

Speaking on the sideline of the protest, a Meira Paibi leader, L Santi urged the India Government to resolve the crisis in the State within 10 days and restored normalcy by lifting the President's Rule from the State.
