7th New Era Week concludes

The 7th edition of New Era Week concluded today accompanied by a prize distribution cum Teachers' Day celebration ceremony at the premises of New Era Higher Secondary School in Thoubal Okram Wangmataba.
The event was graced by Takhellambam Ojit, Chairman, Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) as the chief guest; secretary Khundrakpam Ashikumar as the functional president and Controller of Examination O Joy; Arambam Anilkumar, ZEO Zone III Thoubal and Pukeho Peter Khras, Chief Manager, Chief manager, SBI Thoubal Branch as the guests of honour.
The 7 th New Era Week 2024 was kicked off on October 21 and students from different school houses competed in over 40 games including Mukna, Mukna Kangjei, Thang-Ta, Maroom Konbi, Khullokpi, Uraobi etc under the theme of "Let us promote indigenous games, let us fight for peace in Manipur" .
Notably, Blue House was declared as the overall champion of the 7th New Era Week 2024 with Green House trailing behind as the runner-up.
Mementos, certificates and trophies were handed over to the winners.
The school also honoured many meritorious students including 17 position holders in the Higher Secondary Examination 2024 conducted by COHSEM, one subject topper and three students who cleared NEET 2024 .
They were felicitated with mementos, certificates and cash awards of Rs 20,000 each.
Additionally, 102 recipients of the Inspired Award, 10 toppers in the recently held 2nd term examination for Class XI and XII, Best Student of the Year (male and female), neatest classroom for 2024, Mr New Era 2024, Miss New Era 2024 were also duly honoured and felicitated.
On the occasion, the dignitaries also released the 7th volume of school magazine "Khongthang".
In honour of the teachers and non-teaching staff of the school, a Teachers' Day celebration was also held.
The students showcased various traditional dances, Thang-Ta performances among others and enthralled the audience.
