SHS 2024 activities on in full swing across various districts

Phz/Spi/Tml/Thb, September 24 2024: Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 gained momentum in Pherzawl district with the implementation of various activities in line with the fortnight-long campaign.

As part of the campaign's focus on environmental sustainability, a tree plantation drive was conducted under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyaan at Pherzawl Government High School.

Students and teachers actively participated in the initiative to contribute towards a greener future.

Community Health Centre Parbung also joined the nation-wide campaign by organizing Sampooma Swachhata and Swachhata Lakshit Ekayi events within their premises.

At Senapati, a cleanliness drive was conducted today by the Department of District Youth Affairs and Sports, Senapati in collaboration with SDOAM, DSA, SDBA, SDWA and Basket Association & Athletic Association at various sports complexes in Senapati such as Sanyi Dahrii Sporting Complex, Senapati Astro Turf, Multipurpose Hall and Mini Stadium.

Besides, cleanliness drives were also carried out at various schools under the Autonomous District Council, Senapati.

Various departments located in the Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati took up the drive in cleaning their own respective offices room and its surrounding.

Meanwhile, at Tamenglong, the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Tamenglong organised a "Waste to Art" event at Haipou Jadonang Park, Tamenglong as a part of SHS campaign.

The event aimed to promote awareness about waste management and recycling through artistic expression.

Among the standout creations, Ringsobou Daimei and Guingamlung Panmei emerged as the first and second position winners.

The two will receive awards from the Deputy Commissioner on October 2 .

Lastly, at Thoubal, a cleanliness drive was conducted by Thoubal Municipal Council officials and staff at the historical monument site of Anglo Manipur War at Thoubal Athokpam.

At Gram Panchayat level also, various CD Blocks conducted cleanliness drives in many localities of the district.
