Lions Club of Imphal celebrates 58th Charter Anniversary

The 58th Charter Celebration of Lions Club of Imphal was held at the Lions Service Centre, Sangaiprou on Sunday.
The celebration was graced by dignitaries, including Th Kesho Singh, district governor; Lalit Kumar Kothari, district governor (elect); Neena Dutta, vice-district governor-1 (elect); Shankar Routh, vice-district governor-1 (elect) and past district governor H Manikumar Singh.
During the event, the achievements of the club during the outgoing lionistic year 2024-25 were presented by the club secretary K Chaoba Singh.
It was followed by the induction of a new member of the club by Neena Dutta.
Lalit Kumar Kothari installed the Board of Directors of the club, led by Manas Maisnam as president, Inaobi Watham as secretary and Kh Yaiphaba Meetei as treasurer for the lionistic year 2025-26 .
Lalit Kumar Kothari appreciated the role played by the Lions Club of Imphal in club expansion by sponsoring about 23 clubs.
Th Kesho Singh expressed that the coming lionistic year will be a very critical one for all the clubs as the effort to fulfil 'Mission 1.5' will be at its strongest under the leadership of the incoming international president AP Singh.
"Lions Club of Imphal, being the oldest Lions Club of Manipur should play a major role in the endeavour to fulfil the international goal", he added.
Notably, the Lions Club of Imphal was inaugurated on March 14, 1968 at the conference hall of the erstwhile Hotel Imphal (the then High Court complex) .
After that the club was chartered on June 22, 1968.Since then, the Lions Club of Imphal has been celebrating its charter anniversary on June 22 every year.
