Imphal, February 23 2025: Manipur needs an independent and stable Government that has its priorities set on the State's interests, said Federation of Haomee.

Manipur doesn't need a weak and puppet Government.

The Government that comes after the President's Rule should be able to function independently without the influence of the Centre, it asserted in a statement.

If the Government that comes after the PR can't function independently and act on its own without Centre's approval every-time, then it is not welcomed, said FoH.

Manipur must never have a Government whose hands and feet are tied and is under the control of the Central Government, it said.

The State needs strong leaders who will not fall on the feet of the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister and beg them to meet or visit the State after being ignored multiple times, it added.

Centre's direct rule is better if the State leaders are to fall on the feet of the Central leaderships and beg, FoH asserted.

Meiteis were forced to take up arms when Kuki militants attacked them starting May 3, 2023 .

Had the State and the Centre taken up immediate and appropriate actions, then there would have been no village volunteers and no arms in their hands, said FoH.

They were forced to take up arms to protect themselves due to the utter failures of the State and the Centre.

Forcing them to take up arms and then arresting them afterward is unacceptable, said FoH.

Security forces are unable to protect each and every village.

The village volunteers must be given recognition instead and let guard the villages, asserted FoH .
