Chandel, August 22 2026:
The Anal Lenruwl Tangpi General Headquarters (ALT-GHQs) has resolved to work towards improving the education system under its jurisdiction in Chandel district and formulate an education policy.
The resolution was adopted during the first Legislative Assembly of ALT for the 2026-29 tenure held on Friday at Chamdil Christian Village Community Hall.
The assembly, attended by senior members and student leaders, also resolved to revive the Changtung Lohe Piteh, a literary competition which had remained inactive for more than six years.
Under the resolution, the ALT executives have been entrusted with the responsibility of forming a committee, selecting its members and making necessary arrangements for organising the competition.
Following extensive deliberations on an agenda placed by ALT president Wng Lawrence Anal, the House agreed on the need to take up measures for improving the educational system within the organisation's jurisdiction.
Former ALT leaders, including NI Wilpelngam, Lh David Manahring and ANSAM Speaker, also shared their views and suggestions on the matter.
It was resolved that a committee would be constituted to examine the education system under the ALT's jurisdiction and prepare a case study.
The findings of the study will be placed before the House at its next assembly, following which an education policy will be framed.
The executive members have also been assigned the responsibility of constituting the committee.
Other matters discussed during the assembly included membership fees and participation in the upcoming Naga Students' Federation (NSF) Martyrs' Trophy.
The programme began with the hoisting of the ALT flag by union president Wng Lawrence Anal.
Meanwhile, Rd Alex Anal was re-installed and inducted as Speaker of the Assembly Affairs, ALT, for a second term.
He had earlier served as Speaker during the 2023-26 tenure.
RL Raymond, president of Lamphou Charu Youth Club, was inducted as Secretary of the Assembly Affairs.
For the vacant executive posts, Ws Famous was inducted as Sports Secretary, while Merrily Langu was inducted as Social and Culture Secretary.
