Imphal, April 22 2026:
It is high time for the State and the Central Government to act decisively, update the National Register of Citizens (NRC) to crackdown on illegal immigrants and "Kuki narco-terrorists" and restore peace, Arambai Tenggol has said in a statement.
Appreciating observations made by former ADG, BSF PK Mishra on the Manipur crisis, Arambai Tenggol reiterated that the infiltration by narco-terrorists and illegal immigrants continue to threaten Manipur.
AT said it "stands resolute in the face of the ongoing crisis that continues to threaten our land, our identity, and our collective future.
"The observations made by PK Mishra, former ADG, BSF, a senior officer with vast experience, have once again exposed the seriousness of the situation, one that can no longer be ignored, diluted, or politically sidelined," it said.
As a senior and experienced officer with years of service in Manipur intimately familiar with every nook and comer of the State, Mishra "exposed the foreign hand in the Manipur crisis, particularly the CIA and the USA as a whole, fuelling Kuki-Zo narco-terrorists" .
"He spotlighted rampant poppy cultivation in hill areas of Manipur by Kuki narcoterrorists as a direct threat to National security, warned of illegal "German Road" and "Tiger Road" constructions, and highlighted our porous India-Myanmar border in Manipur, exploited by Kuki-Zo illegal immigrants and narco-terrorists for destabilizing activities." He also rightly expressed grave apprehensions about "Kuki-Zo terrorist actions" expanding from the Meitei community to target even the Tangkhul Naga people, AT said.
It said every responsible authority must act now-firmly, lawfully, and without hesitation, to protect Manipur and uphold the unity and integrity of the Nation.
"...we reaffirm that peace must be built on justice, fairness, and respect for all communities.
The restoration of harmony and coexistence is essential, but it must not come at the cost of security, truth, and accountability.
It is high time for the State and Central Governments to act decisively, taking extreme measures such as NRC, against these illegal immigrants and Kuki narco-terrorists, to halt further escalation, restore peace and tranquillity, and revive the centuries-old.
peaceful coexistence among Manipur's diverse communities," AT said.
The patience of the people of Manipur has reached its limit, it said.
"We will not remain silent spectators while our land is destabilized, our youth are destroyed, and our future is compromised.
This is not a time for political convenience or bureaucratic delay.
This is a time for decisive governance and National responsibility" .
Manipur will not be allowed to fall.
The people will stand united.
The time for action is now, AT added.
