Black Day observance commences

A three-day long Black Day observance to commemorate the 285th Puya Meithaba began today at KM Blooming Higher Secondary School, Khangabok in Thoubal district.
The observance programme is being organised jointly by the International Observation Committee on Puya Meithaba (ICOP), Meetei National Front (MNF) Kangleipak, Hanjing Marjingkol Pakhangba Laisana Kanba Lup (HAMPAK Laikallup), United Manipur Muslim Development Organisation and All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association with the theme 'Remember, Review and Revive for Love, Peace and Harmony' .
Secretary of Manipur State Kala Akademi, S Vedeshwar Sharma and Convenor of Puya Meithaba Thousil Lup, Hamom Dhani Meetei attended the inaugural programme as the chief guest and president respectively.

Secretary of AMRPSWA, L Joy Khuman and Principal of KM Blooming Higher Secondary School, Kh Menjor were the guests of honour while executive editor of Pandam (an evening daily) and secretary of MNF, Golmei Makuchung Kabui were the special invitees.
The dignitaries as well as the students of the school wore black badges to mark the observance programme.
The Black Day programme was also observed at 19 schools of the State.
The observance programme would wind up on Jan 24 .
