A public rally will be staged at Moirang on June 23 (Sunday) demanding an amicable solution to end the ethnic crisis in the State which has been going on for more than a year.
In connection with the above, a press meet was held today at the office of Manipur Chanura Lamjing Lup (MACHALL), Moirang.
Addressing media persons, MACHALL Bishnupur district Convenor Moirangthem Pushpa appealed to all Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), meira paibis, students and the public to participate in the rally and support the cause.
Stating that the rally was planned for May 30, 2024, Pushpa said it was postponed due to the flood situation in the State.
She informed that the rally will be flagged off from Mukta High School ground Moirang at 1 pm on June 23 and will culminate at Hemam Nilamani Sports complex, Moirang Ngangkhalawai.
The rally will be followed by a public meeting to discuss the pressing issues concerning the ethnic crisis in the State.
The press meet was also attended by members of MACHALL and members of transgender community of Moirang.
It is worth noting that Manipur is facing immense challenges and is in a chaotic state ever since the tragic ethnic violence erupted in May last year rendering thousands homeless and leading to loss of many innocent lives.
