No faith in NIA, say women vendors

Imphal, April 17 2026: Remarking that no progress could be seen in the many cases being investigated by the NIA, women vendors of Khwairamband Keithel has asked the State Government to let Manipur Police investigate the Tronglaobi terror attack in place of the NIA.

Members of Road Side Vendors' Welfare Association staged a protest demonstration today at Khwairamband temporary market demanding justice for the Tronglaobi terror attack.

The protesters denounced the failure of Central forces to contain Kuki narco-terrorists and demanded justice for the Tronglaobi terror attack.

Speaking to the media, Road Side Vendors' Welfare Association president Kshetri Tama asserted that several cases of attacks and killings perpetrated by Kuki narcoterrorists have been handed over to the NIA since the violence erupted three years back but the agency has not achieved any progress in any of these cases except wasting time.

Saying that people have lost faith in the NIA, she asked the Government to take back all the cases handed over to the NIA and let Manipur Police investigate these cases.

Tama also asked the Government to present status reports of all the cases being investigated by the NIA at the earliest.

She said that the people have been enduring extreme misery on account of insincerity on the part of the incumbent MLAs, excluding Kuki and Zo MLAs.

There are still many MLAs who have not yet bothered to even condemn the inhuman and gruesome murder of two toddlers by Kuki narco-terrorists at Tronglaobi, she said.

She also demanded that the perpetrators of the Tronglaobi terror should be arrested without any further delay and they should be awarded exemplary punishment.
