Imphal, April 17 2025: The Court of Special Judge POCSO Imphal West has remanded the Karnataka State weightlifting team manager of the recently concluded 68th National School Games to judicial custody on the charge of sexuallly assaulting minor athletes today.

Accused Ramesh Alagudekar (58) of Sahunagar Belgavi Karnataka was produced before the Court on completion of his police custody period.

Five girls from Karnataka's Under-17 weightlifting team filed a written complaint on April 10 alleging molestation and physical assault by the accused.

The accused has reportedly accepted the charges levelled against him.

The Court after hearing the submission of the PP of the State and on perusal of the case record remanded the accused to judicial custody till May 1 .

The accused was arrested by Imphal police from Khuman Lampak Boys Sports Hostel on April 11 .
