Christmas carnival opens at Chandel, Senapati

A carnival organised by the Naga Student's Union Chandel (NSUC) was kicked off today at Women's Market, Japhou Bazar in Chandel district with the motive to help the denizens of the district with better shopping for Christmas.
The special event with 54 stalls was inaugurated by Js Angam Anal, chairman of Japhou Bazar Board and chairman of Maha Area Chief Association while Rev Dr Runglal Denish, Pastor, Shillong Anal Baptist Church prayed and blessed the carnival.
Speaking on the occasion, Ruwnlar Elly Anal, president of NSUC stated that the motive behind organising such carnival was to provide the denizens of Chandel a form of entertainment and discounted shopping during this festive season.
Besides shopping, people can try their luck at various games and win prizes too, he added.
The stalls range from clothes, Christmas decoration items, food and gaming stalls and many others.
The carnival will be held till December 23.In Senapati, a seven days long Chrismas Night Carnival, 2024 was opened at Senapati District headquarters on Monday evening.
The Carnival that would continue till December 22 is organised by the District Administration, Senapati in collaboration with the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) with its federating units including the Mao Students Union (MSU), Maram Students Union (MKS), Poumai Naga Students Union (PNTM), Thangal Students Union (TAJ) and the Zeliangrong Students Union-Senapati Zone.
While extending festive greetings from the office of the Senapati Districts Students Association (SDSA) the student body president stated that the office of the SDSA welcomes all the citizens of the district to be part of the joyous season where families, friends and community come together to celebrate the birth of the Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.
