Biswajit celebrates I-Day with IDPs

Celebrating India's Independence Day, MLA Thongam Biswajit distributed relief materials and sweets at displaced people's camps at Wangjing Kodompokpi and Wangjing Lamding.
The relief materials the MLA distributed included water storage drums, books and bicycles for students.
The materials were distributed to around 300 households.
During his visits to the camps, Biswajit said the materials were distributed to address some of the issues facing the internally displaced families.
Biswajit said he is a member of a WhatsApp group of the IDPs and he came to know of the issues facing the displaced families through it.
He enquired about the conditions of the IDPs and urged them to support the Government in its efforts to restore normalcy and peace.
The Government is working and taking serious steps to bring peace and allow the return of the IDPs to their original homes and villages, he said.
The popular Government did try its best to restore peace.
The PR Government now is trying its best to restore peace.
The Governor is working towards bringing a resolution between the two sides, he said.
He then sought the support of the IDPs and people in preserving peaceful coexistence of all communities and protecting Manipur's integrity.
Biswajit also assured that he will apprise the Governor of the issues the IDPs are facing for appropriate relief measures.
While the Government is working to address the issues of the IDPs, it is also taking up efforts for welfare of IDP students, he said.
Biswajit also gave assurance to arrange a pilgrimage for elderly IDPs to various Temples in Imphal.
