Imphal, March 16 2022: The Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West has issued an order for handing over of all recorded statements, documents and items accompanying the final report relating to the mysterious death case of N Babysana to the IO of CBI.

The order was passed today in connection with the application filed by Inspector Sujit Paul of CBI Special Crime Branch, Kolkata before the Court praying for the return of all original documents, articles and recorded statements under Section 161 .

The application mentioned that the previous IO had submitted a final report/closure report before the Court on March 31 last year along with all the list of documents and witnesses.

However, the Court had rejected the report on November 16 and directed the CBI to conduct further investigation following which the bureau restarted the investigation.

The present IO requires all the relevant documents in original and requested the Court to release the said recorded statement, documents and articles accompanying the final report.
