Senapati, August 13 2026: The Naga People's Front (NPF), Senapati Division and the Naga People's Organisation (NPO) have expressed appreciation and lauded Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho and the State Cabinet Members for approving the establishment of a Government medical college at Senapati in-principle.

The decision to establish the medical college was taken by the Cabinet on August 11 .

Setting up of a Government Medical College in Senapati District Headquarters is one of the long cherished dreams of the people of Senapati, said the NPO and the NPF, expressing confidence that the Chief Minister would translate the decision into action at the earliest.

When established, the Senapati Medical College will be the second Government Medical College in the hill districts after Churachandpur Medical College.

The NPF, separately, also thanked the Chief Minister for deputing Deputy CM and Government officials to assess damage caused by flash floods in Laii recently.

The NPF said it is hopeful that the Government will provide relief to the affected villagers, farmers at the earliest.

"May the old adage of Manipur; Hill-Valley disparity be a bygone phrase and may our state flourish at equal footing both in the hill and valley in all spheres," NPF stated.
