Imphal, June 12 2025:
While reaffirming its stance to continue striding ahead with the people's movement until the Nagas achieve their demands for reinstatement of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and immediate stoppage of border fencing construction by the Govt of India in Naga areas, ANSAM has expressed its resolute solidarity with the plea of the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) against the Superintendent of Police and Additional Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) of Senapati district.
A statement issued by ANSAM said that it shall stand up in chorus with the decision of SDSA for non-cooperation movement against the police officers for allegedly disrespecting the rights and hurting the sentiment of the people.
In the event of any untoward incident, the Govt should be held fully responsible, the release stated.
ANSAM also expressed astonishment over the lodging of an FIR against the All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM), Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA), Maram Students Union (MKS), Mao Students' Union (MSU), Poumai Naga Students Union (PNTM), Thangal Students' Union (TAJ) and Zeliangrong Students' Union-Senapati Zone (ZSU-SZ) .
Such actions constitute a direct challenge to the conscience of the Naga people and the systemic approach of the Govt to criminalize the people's conscience is repressive in nature, it said.
Condemning the alleged autocratic action of Senapati District Police, ANSAM vowed to fight to the end for their rights.
ANSAM has also called upon all the right thinking organizations to condemn such heinous act of criminalizing the students/civil bodies for voicing the rights of the people.
It further called upon all its constituent and subordinate units as well as the Naga populace to remain steadfast and roll up their sleeves for any eventuality.
