MIU celebrates National Education Day; appeals for no bandhs on Nov 21, 22

The Manipur International University (MIU) observed National Education Day under the theme "AI and education: Preserving human agency in a world of automation" at the conference hall of the varsity located at Ghari Awang Leikai.
As per a press release, Professor P Kumar Singh, Vice Chancellor, MIU; T Brajeshwari Devi, Registrar, MIU; Professor Nongthombam Ibohal Singh and Amarjit Ningombam, Director of MIU, presided over the event as presidium members.
Additionally, Professor Thokchom Asha Sinha, Director, Research & Development Cell, MIU; Professor RK Sujata, Professor and Research Officer, MIU and Dr Debina Saikhom, Assistant Professor, MIU were present as resource persons.
In a separate press note, MIU has announced that it is set to organize an international conference under the theme "Impact of unregulated application of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on soils, fauna, human health, aquatic and terrestrial ecosystem" on November 21 and 22 .
In this connection, MIU has made an appeal to all sections of society - including State and non-State organisations and civil society groups not to call any bandh or general strike on the aforementioned dates to ensure the smooth conduct of the conference.
Notably, the international conference will be held at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Palace Compound, Imphal, and attended by scientists, academicians and scholars from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Russian Nano Technology Laboratory; Southern Federal University, Rostov Oblast, Russia; Elsevier and others.
