CRPF man rescued

Kangpokpi, May 08 2024:
Security forces rescued a CRPF jawan from the hand of unidentified gunmen, today.
The CRPF personnel, stationed at the Tactical Training Hub (TTH) in Chil Chil, Kangpokpi district was reportedly waylaid at Shantipur along National Highway-2 and abducted by the unidentified gunmen today at around 10.30 am when he was heading toward home at Keithelmanbi Military Colony in Champhai Sub-Division on his scooty .
The CRPF jawan has been identified as Lensat Sitlhou, son of Ngulkhomang Sitlhou of Keithelmanbi Military Colony.
Shantipur, a Nepali-dominated area, is just a stone's throw away from Gamgiphai.
In a swift response to the incident, Imphal West police, working in tandem with Kangpokpi SP and allied security units such as Assam Rifles and CRPF launched a coordinated rescue operation and rescued the abducted jawan at around 3 pm.
It is said that the CRPF jawan was found brutally assaulted by the abductors.
