Blood donation, free health camps conducted

A Special Outreach Health Camp was conducted today at Moirang Leirak Manung Community Hall under the supervision of Sagolband AC MLA Rk Imo Singh.
The outreach initiative, organised by the Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee (SCPC) in association with the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Sagolband, successfully provided essential health services to over 100 individuals.
According to a release issued by the office of the MLA Sagolband AC, the services offered during the camp included OPD consultation, screening for blood pressure, diabetes, oral cancer, breast cancer, and cervical cancer, immunization for children, free medicines, ABHA ID creation, free lab tests, and eye check-up.
In a message, RK Imo Singh said, "Our priority remains the health and well-being of our people.
Through these free medical camps, we aim to reach every comer of the constituency, ensuring that no one is deprived of essential healthcare" .
"Moreover, our objective is to bring various government health schemes to every individual at their doorstep, making quality healthcare more accessible, I thank the medical teams and volunteers for their relentless efforts in making this initiative a success", he added.
Similarly, United People's Front (UPF) in association with Youth Development Club, Thamnapokpi and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) organised a Free Health Camp at Thamnapokpi Keithel in Imphal East district today.
During the camp, a medical team provided free health examinations and consultation to about 100 individuals.
Those in need were also provided with free medications, ensuring access to essential treatments.
Speaking on the occasion, UPF president Nongthombam Rupachandra said that the health camp was organised to provide essential healthcare service to the people of Thamnapokpi and nearby areas.
He asserted that since the conflict began on May 3, 2023, people living in the Red Zone have been facing a lot of difficulties and are unable to access essential healthcare services.
He continued that similar camps will also be conducted in other places which have been severely affected by the prolonged conflict.
Nongthombam Rupachandra also conveyed his gratitude to CMO Imphal East, other healthcare professionals and people of the area for their support in making the health camp a success.
Youth Development Club Thamnapokpi secretary Thokchom Lamnganba and Medical Officer Dr Maibam Johnson were also present at the event.
Meanwhile, Kripadashini Advanced Hospital in collaboration with Life Savers Manipur organised a blood donation camp at RIMS, Imphal today.
The blood donation camp was conducted in connection with the foundation day celebration of Kripadashini Advanced Hospital.
Doctors and staff of Kripadashini Advanced Hospital donated their blood during the camp.
