Imphal, September 05 2026: Imphal Police have sought the public's assistance in identifying an unidentified male body found lying at North AOC, opposite Maipakpi Hospital, Imphal West, on September 4 .

According to police, information about the body was received at around 12.20 pm.

The exact cause of death is not known.

The body has been kept at the RIMS Hospital morgue for identification and post-mortem examination.

Police said the unidentified body will be disposed of as per law if no one comes forward to claim or identify it by 10 am on September 9.According to police, the deceased has dark complexion coupled with an elongated face, short/grey hair and an average build, with a height of around 5 feet 5 inches.

His ears were not pierced.

At the time of recovery, he was wearing one pair of jeans half-pants and a yellow T-shirt.

Police appealed to anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the deceased to contact Imphal Police Station at the earliest.
