Imagi Meira submits memorandum to President Murmu

Imphal, March 05 2025: In a memorandum addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, Imagi Meira has appealed for the establishment of a popularly elected Government in Manipur in place of President's Rule under Article 356 .

The representation signed by Th Sujata Devi, president, Imagi Meira has urged President Murmu to i) expedite initiatives to establish a popularly elected Government in Manipur representing the people's mandate, ii) launch economic revival packages for SMEs, farmers and allocate special grants for displaced families and low-interest loans for youth entrepreneurs and iii) strengthen security to ensure safe movement along the National and State Highways.

Drawing the attention of President Murmu to the pressing concerns of the State grappling with prolonged, unprecedented violence, displacement and human rights abuses resulting in breakdown of law and order, Imagi Meira called upon the President to prioritize the aforementioned three measures to restore peace, stability and democratic governance in Manipur.
