Lamka, October 04: Against the backdrop of competent candidates going to the press about the alleged kickbacks demanded by officials during the recent recruitment rally for Women Police, Churachandpur District Students Union today asked the authority, of the price in all levels of the recruitment process in order to get selected.

Two young women from Mata village here, who were vying for the women police berth, today made public their annoyance about the recruitment process through the local media and appeals on the CDSU to take up their cause, leaving the later with no choice.

Vunglunniang (Chest No.31), daughter of Ginsuan of Mata and Niangngaihmawi (Chest No.49), daughter of Tuanzapau also from Mata, said the local media, stood first and second during the rally but their names were omitted in the selected list, as they fail to pay Rs.10,000 demanded of them by the officials.

The duo is also quoted by the media as saying that they were witness to money exchanging hands.

Pay Rs, 10,000 and you are already selected; if you can't you have no chance, they were told said the local media further.

Vunglunching, claimed that she stood first during the PET race even said that another woman who gave up during the race and arrived to the scene later made it to the merit list while she failed.

With no other option left in hand now, the CDSU today said it will not take the case lying down and demanded the SPF government to immediately initiate departmental inquiry and book the culprit to justice besides conducting a completely fresh PET and ensure that free and fair selection process is in place.
