Imphal, August 04 2025: The Manipur University Teachers' Association (MUTA) and the Manipur Mathematical Society have extended heartfelt condolences upon the passing of Professor M Ranjit Singh.

The late Professor was the secretary of Manipur Mathematical Society, former president of MUTA, former Head and Professor, Department of Mathematics as well as former executive member and member of the Finance Committee, Manipur University.

According to a press release, members of MUTA paid tributes to the memory of the distinguished academician during a condolence meeting held today at MUTA hall.

As former president of MUTA, Professor M Ranjit Singh championed the cause of the teaching community with commitment and wisdom.

His service as an executive member and Finance Committee member of MU further reflected his deep concern for the institution's academic and administrative growth.

At this time of grief, MUTA has conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family.

Separately, a condolence meeting was held at the office of Manipur Mathematical Society at the Department of Mathematics, MU today.

During the condolence meeting, joint secretary Professor Kangujam Priyokumar Singh recalled the contributions of Professor M Ranjit in the field of mathematical education and research.

Saying that his passing is an unimaginable loss, he expressed solidarity with the grieving family.

Both gatherings observed a 2-minute silence as a mark of respect to the deceased.
