Lamka, August 03:
Kuki National Front (Samuel group) today said the alleged shoot-out between its cadres and KNO-Zougam on July 31 was carried out
by KNO-Zougam itself on the innocent villagers of the area.
The shoot-out was carried out on the pretext that the villagers gave
shelter to KNF(S) cadres during their short visit to the area, said a statement which sought to clarify the press condemnation
of Leimatak's Mahila Congress.
The KNF(S) left the area on July 27 last after a brief visit to the said area and never involved in
the said shoot-out, it added.
Further, the outfit questioned the intention of KNO-Zougam in initiating such an action even when
they left the area and torture some villagers.
'This is act of cowardice and would never bring any good to the Kuki Revolutionary
movement' it said.
At a time when factional feuds have been subsided and the people are having to taste peace, the statement asked
why KNO-Zougam would like to bring those factional fights back.
It also appealed to all revolution ary groups to stop factional
fight and not to stray away from the path of true revolutionary principles.
