KVK Imphal East holds awareness campaign on "VB-G RAM G ACT"

In compliance with directions issued to all Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the country, the KVK, Imphal East, Central Agricultural University (CAU), organised an awareness campaign on Saturday to educate the local population about the provisions and benefits of the "Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (GARMIN): VB-G RAM G ACT, 2025" .
Additionally, a Sarpanch Sammelan along with a training programme were also conducted at the conference hall of KVK, Imphal East.
As per a release issued by KVK Imphal East, the programmes were aimed at sensitizing grassroots leadership about the vision and objectives of VB-G RAM G ACT, 2025, focusing on employment generation (Rozgar) and sustainable livelihoods (Ajeevika) .
The event was graced by Senjam Deban Meitei, Chairperson, Top Chingtha as the chief guest; L Babita Devi, Member, and K Sobhachandra Singh, Chairperson, Tulihal Gram Panchayat as the guests of honour.
In his address, Senjam Deban highlighted the importance of GARMIN in empowering rural communities, generating employment opportunities, and strengthening self-reliant livelihoods.
He also emphasized the role of scientific farming, value addition, and agri-based enterprises in improving farmers' income and contributing to inclusive rural development.
L Babita and K Sobhachandra stressed the pivotal role of KVKs in implementing national missions at the grassroots level.
They also encouraged the participants to actively adopt improved technologies, diversify farming systems, and take advantage of training and support services provided by KVKs under the mission.
Dr Y Prababhati Devi, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Imphal East, gave a talk on opportunities for employment and livelihood generation through crop production, livestock, fisheries, kitchen gardening, and agri-entrepreneurship.
Interactive discussions were held to clarify any doubt and motivate the participants towards skill upgradation and income-enhancing activities.
The Sarpanch Sammelan witnessed the participation of 51 participants, comprising Village Heads/Sarpanch, Panchayat Members, public representatives and farmer leaders.
The event concluded with a collective resolve to actively participate in the implementation of VB-G RAM G ACT, 2025, aiming towards sustainable livelihoods and a prosperous rural economy in Imphal East district.
