State commemorates release of 20th instalment of PM-KISAN Scheme

The disbursement of the 20th instalment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana directly crediting Rs 20,500 crore to the bank accounts of more than 9.7 crore farmers across the country was commemorated across the State today.
The main program was held at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a live stream/webcast of the event was broadcasted in the celebrations in different districts.
Chandel
At Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Chandel, the release of the 20th instalment of PM-KISAN Scheme marked a key achievement in the Government's commitment to support fanners.
The event was graced by SDC/BO DC Chandel Promilata Monsang Wanglar as the chief guest with SP Lovejoy Anal, District Agriculture Officer, Chandel as the guest of honour.
Meanwhile, Dr A Ameeta Devi, Senior Scientist & Head, ICAR-KVK Chandel served as the functional president.
About 107 farmers from the area attended the event.
They received agricultural inputs including micronutrient fertilizers and vegetable seeds to help with their farming activities.
The ceremony also featured a live webcast.
After the program, a "Scientist & Farmers Interaction Programme" took place, allowing fanners to interact with experts and share their concerns.
Senapati
The release program of 20th instalment of PM Kisan Scheme was held at KVK Campus, Hengbung, organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Senapati.
The event was graced by KS Khaie Leo, National Spokesperson, BJP-ST Morcha as the chief guest; Vino K Samuel, former State general secretary (admin), BJP-ST Morcha as the guest of honour and James Lavei, District Agriculture Officer, Senapati as the functional president respectively.
Webcast of the main program held in Varanasi, UP was streamed in the later part of the function.
Dr David Kamei, Chief Technical Officer (Plant Protection), KVK, Senapati delivered the welcome note.
In his keynote address, Senapati DAO James Lavei stated that PM-Kisan scheme is an initiative by the Government of India which gives financial support to eligible farmers up to Rs 6000 annually in 3 quarter instalments (every four months) directly into their bank accounts as minimum income support.
He informed that there are more than 68,000 beneficiaries in Senapati district and more than 48,000 beneficiaries in Kangpokpi.
However, only the eligible beneficiaries who have submitted their required documents will get the amount transferred on the day, he added.
He also asked the rest to submit a prescribed form of agriculture land use to their respective SDOs to enjoy the scheme.
Speaking as the chief guest, KS Khaie Leo stated that under the scheme 19 instalments have been transferred to the bank accounts of more than 9.70 crore farmers across the country.
Meanwhile, Dr Chang, Veterinary Officer, District Veterinary Department, Senapati gave a talk on "Livestock Insurance" .
Later, KVK Senapati distributed some seeds and sprayer to selected farmers of the district.
Thoubal
At the conference hall of KVK Thoubal, the milestone was marked with the active participation of farmers from the district.
The event witnessed the attendance of Th Subash Singh, Chairperson, Administrative Committee Khangabok Part I GP; Th Joyprakash Singh, District Agriculture Officer Thoubal; Dr S Zeshmarani, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Thoubal; Farmers Innovative Awardee Ak Deben and Dr Chuwang Hijam, SMS PBG, KVK Thoubal as the presidium members.
On the occasion, material inputs including seeds were distributed to the local farmers and they were educated about the scientific cultivation of rice, oilseeds and pulses.
According to Th Joyprakash Singh, the citizens of Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur district received the benefits of this scheme only for a few months.
Saying that the department is putting in all efforts to ensure that the farmers continue receiving their due benefits, he also urged the farmers to apply for the scheme while ensuring that they fulfil all necessary criteria.
Additionally, a farmer by the name of M Biren Singh conveyed that farmers from Thoubal district have received only 2/3 instalments of the scheme since it was launched.
