Kakching, June 02 2025:
The Joint Non Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO) has appealed to the authorities concerned to address the deteriorating road condition of NH-137 (A), specifically the road stretch from Kakching Lamkhai to Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar, which is one of the most vital road in Kakching district.
A release issued by the JNGVO stated that due to the arrival of the rainy season, the road stretch has become a hell for commuters with a large number of deep potholes appearing at frequent steps causing severe inconveniences to the people.
JNGVO stated that the condition of the road has worsened due to the elevation on both sides of the road by individuals and shopkeepers, which led to the appearance of several potholes along the road due to water logging.
Such problems of water logging on the pot holes could not be solved until these alleviated portions are removed.
Even though several appeals have been made to the concerned individuals and shopkeeper, they have remained deaf ear, said the JNGVO.
In this regard the JNGVO has submitted a written application to the Deputy Commissioner of Kakching and Caretaker chairperson of Kakching Municipal Council for removal of the elevated portions on both sides of the road.
In view of the inconveniences faced by the people, the JNGVO has urged the authorities concerned to immediately take action against those individuals and shopkeepers and remove the elevated portions.
