BJP hopeful of 12 seats

BJP Manipur Pradesh has categorically stated that they would win at least 12 Councillor seats in the Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) for which the election was held today.
Whereas Congress party has been heavily depending on money and muscle powers, BJP fought the election on the planks of development and good governance, said Moirangthem Ashnikumar, general secretary of BJP state unit.
He said that the people of IMC area voted for development as per the last assessment done today.
"We believe BJP would get 12 seats, Congress may not cross double digit and around 7 wards particularly which fall under Sagolband and Keishamthong A/Cs may go to non-Congress (Ind) .
"We fought this election under the collective leadership of Th Chaoba Singh, (former Union Minister) Convenor SEMC (State election management committee) Ksh Bhavananda Singh, President, Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykishan and Thongju AC MLA Th Bishwajit along with other prominent and important leaders and our dedicated Karikartas of BJP Manipur Pradesh", Ashnikumar said.
On behalf of BJP Manipur Pradesh, he conveyed gratitude to Amit Shah, Ram Lal, Ram Madhav, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Prahlad Singh Patel for their continuous support.
He also conveyed gratitude to all the voters who came out and exercised their rights to adult franchise today.
