Complete NH-102A project : Committee

Imphal, October 01 2026: The Joint Committee on National Highway no 102A Affected Villages has appealed to the Government and all relevant authorities to ensure the timely implementation of the 'much-delayed' highway project along the Finch Corner-Shangshak-Tengnoupal section.

In a statement, the Committee said that the people of the region have waited for years for this important connectivity project.

NH-102A is not merely a road, it is a strategic and vital connectivity corridor with the potential to significantly improve transportation, trade, economic activity and development in the region, it added.

Moreover, the Committee said that the completion of the Finch Corner-Shangshak-Tengnoupal corridor will also help bring the strategically important and naturally rich region onto the wider National and international visibility map.

It appealed to all MPs, MLAs, political parties, affected landowners and stakeholders to focus on securing the timely sanction of the NH-102A project.

The project has already faced considerable delay, the Committee added.

Once the project implementation commences, the Committee stated that it will closely monitor the quality of execution and construction works in accordance with the law and applicable technical specifications and standards.

Any complacency, negligence or substandard execution that compromises the durability, safety or quality of the highway will be viewed with utmost seriousness, it said.
