PNTM launches Golden Jubilee celebrations

Senapati, August 01 2026: The Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (PNTM), also known as the Poumai Naga Students' Union, today kicked off its Golden Jubilee celebrations under the theme "Resurgence - 50 & Beyond" at the LBCC Turf Ground, Khabung Karong.

Established in 1976, the student body is scheduled to celebrate its Golden Jubilee in December this year under the theme "50 Years by Labour and Honour" .

Addressing the gathering, PNTM president J Dalounii Angam expressed gratitude to members of various committees, zonal presidents and the Central Organising Committee for commencing preparations to ensure a grand celebration.

He sought the support and cooperation of all sections of society to make the Jubilee celebration a memorable one.

COC convenor Akha Danii described the occasion as a day of thanksgiving to God for the student body's 50 years of existence.

He also expressed gratitude to former leaders of the organisation for their contributions in bringing the student body to its present stage.

Akha Danii appealed to the Poumai Naga Union (PNU) and Poumai Naga Naga Women's Union (PNNM) to extend valuable suggestions and support for the successful organisation of the Jubilee.

He announced that members of various committees would begin discharging their respective responsibilities from next Monday.

PNU president RB Panii expressed gratitude to senior leaders of the union, student body and women's organisation for their contributions towards the growth of the student body.

He urged all concerned to extend their support and cooperation for the upcoming Jubilee celebration and assured that the union would extend its fullest support towards making the event a grand success.

PNNM president K Chuchaoru also extended best wishes to the student body for a successful Golden Jubilee celebration.

The programme was followed by friendly football matches between the various zonal units and PNTM officials.
