Imphal, June 30 2009:
Terming the particular group which claimed to have fought a gun-battle with commandos on June 14 and allegedly involved in abducting daily wage earners for ransom as reactionary, the KCP (MC) said that it would welcome back all those comrades who have unwittingly followed the reactionary group.
The daily reports of intimidation and extortion from public were the works of a self-styled KCP (MC) leader and his followers, asserted KCP (MC)'s military affairs secretary Lanheiba Meitei in a press release.
Accusing the particular group of scheming in cahoot with the high command of counter insurgency operations to subdue the liberation movement, Lanheiba said that the public can judge for themselves from their activities to be otherwise even if they claimed to be revolutionaries.
These individuals who have been hoodwinking the public in the name of KCP (MC) are being protected by Maj Bikram of 34 AR, Maj Shyaram of 32 AR with the knowledge of 57 Division and IG AR (S).
They are allowed free movement with arms in Singda Dam and Yaingangpokpi areas.
At Imphal, they are given shelter at Chingmeirong and Chingamathak AR camps, alleged Lanheiba.
It exuded that the outfit's new policy of not making monetary demands from the public would certainly help in rounding up the reactionary elements.
Alleging that security forces acting on false information provided by reactionary elements committed excesses against civilians on the pretext that KFLs stayed at their places, it cited a workshop located at Uripok Sorbon Thingel.
As a matter of principle, KFLs left their temporary shelters immediately after it was known by reactionary elements and KFLs never used these places again once they were exposed, Lanheiba conveyed.
Tracing back the emergence of some groups claiming to be KCP (MC), Lanheiba said that the self-styled leader who claimed to be president of the KCP (Leipakmacha Group) started claiming to be KCP (MC) from 2007 long after the KCP (Military Council) was established.
Taking advantage of the refuge extended to him by one Major Tiger of 32 AR (Yaingangpokpi post), the self-styled leader started indulging in reactionary activities in collaboration with security forces since then.
With the reactionary elements and security forces indulging in rampant extortion, killing and detention, all in the name of insurgent groups, people's faith in revolutionary groups has been waning, Lanheiba noted.
He appealed to the people to extend full cooperation with confidence to the party's White Army (Feejam Lanmee) in their efforts to tackle the reactionary elements in order to save the revolutionary movement.
