Staff quarters inaugurated

Imphal, October 29 2025: Churachand (CC) Higher Secondary School inaugurated its newly constructed staff quarters and hosted the annual prize distribution function today at the premises of the institution.

The event was graced by Bisheshwar Khumukcham, MCS, Additional Director of Education (S/Valley); Sucheta Khumukcham, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Zone II and Kh Memtombi, Principal, CC Higher Secondary School as the chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Bisheshwar Khumukcham shared that the teachers' quarters were built by the Engineering Cell of Education (S) under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.

The initiative was reportedly approved by the concerned ministry during 2021-2022.He also highlighted the importance of such staff quarters for teachers who are posted in regions far away from their homes.

The construction of such quarters can bring improvements in the quality of education and in producing good students, he said.

These living quarters are needed more in remote areas, and as such, the Government is making efforts to build more of them, he added.

At the event, meritorious students were honoured with the Ningshing Marup Award and ACCSA while CCian Forum 1996-1998 Batch also distributed multiple prizes.

Additionally, the Principal of CC Higher Secondary School also distributed incentive cash awards to exemplary teachers of the school.
