Imphal, April 27 2026: Two youths were caught trying to smuggle 180 grams of heroin at Imphal Airport today.

The two apprehended by the Airport Police and CISF personnel have been identified as Aslam Khan and Chesam Amir and were to board an Air India Express flight.

Aslam Khan is a resident of Bengoon Loubuk Leikai, Mayang Imphal, and Chesam Amir has been identified as a resident of Phoubakchao Makha Leikai, Mayang Imphal.

Both the individuals were planning to fly to Bangalore.

They were found carrying 180 grams of heroin concealed inside an Ensure Milk Powder box, said sources.

This seizure of the heroin came days after one person was arrested with 6.74 kilograms of brown sugar at the Imphal airport on April 14 .

The person arrested is identified as Md Sabir Ahamed, a resident of Kwakta Khuman Thongkhong under Moirang sub-division in Bishnupur district.

He was found carrying 6.74 Kg of brown sugar in a baggage during checking.

Earlier on February 27, two non-locals were arrested at the Imphal airport with 4.8 kilograms of heroin.

The two persons arrested were identified as Suresh and Vijay Singh, both residents of Madhya Pradesh.

They were attempting to smuggle the heroin to Guwahati on an Air India Express flight.
