Imphal, April 26 2026:
Both the Tangkhul Naga Long Working Committee (TNL WC) and the Arambai Tenggol have flatly rejected an allegation made by the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) that a coordinated Meitei-Tangkhul militant build-up has been threatening Kuki and Zo civilians in Ukhrul district.
A press release issued by KIM on April 25 further alleged that over 50 Meitei Arambai Tenggol militants are stationed at Sikibung, Ukhrul district and they are operating in coordination with Tangkhul militant elements.
However, separate press notes issued by the TNL WC and the Arambai Tenggol have categorically rejected the allegation as a complete lie that has no basis.
The TNL WC asserted that a community that has the right to the land do not want nor need the help of other people or communities in defending their land.
The press release issued by KIM is a blatant gimmick to attract sympathy from people who are ignorant of the prevailing situation in Manipur and of the mendacious nature of the Kukis who always have the victim card up their sleeve.
The KIM's allegation of the Arambai Tenggol operating in Ukhrul is baseless, a wild allegation and utterly unfounded, the AT asserted.
No amount of misinformation can conceal the reality of their actions or the harm inflicted upon innocent lives.
Attempts to manipulate public perception through deceit only further expose the lack of credibility and integrity behind such statements, the AT said on KIM's allegations.
The Sikibung/Sharka-phung Village Authority too has rejected the allegation that 50 Arambai Tenggol cadres are stationed at the village as pure imagination, devoid of any substance.
"Our village volunteers are the only ones defending our village since the outbreak of the conflict", the Sikibung Village Authority said.
