Nation First @75 Campaign Cleanliness & safety awareness drives launched

Imphal, September 25 2025: As part of the Nation First @75 Campaign under Viksit Bharat Viksit Manipur, a 'Cleanliness & Safety Awareness Drives at Retail Outlets and LPG Distributorship in Manipur' was inaugurated today at Imphal Depot, Malom.

The programme was organised by Indian Oil Company Limited (IOCL) in association with the Department of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD), Government of Manipur.

The cleanliness and safety awareness drive will continue till October 2, 2025 .

The inaugural function was graced by dignitaries, including N Kheda Varta, Secretary, CAF&PD; K Bono, Director, CAF&PD; N Kashung, Senior Depot Manager, IOCL; Bobby Haobam, OSD, CAF&PD; and RK Mohen, State Level Coordinator, Oil Marketing Companies.

Speaking on the occasion, N Kheda Varta said.

"Fuel (petrol & LPG) plays an important role in our life and the campaign regarding safety and cleanliness is quite appropriate at this moment".

He asserted that besides safety measures, cleanliness guidelines among the petrol pumps and LPG distribution agencies is very important.

Stating that setting up of rest rooms/washrooms in petrol pumps and LPG distributing outlets can attract more customers, he said, "Vehicle pollution checking can also be done as a part of keeping the environment clean by the retailers and distributors" .

He also appealed to the distributors and agencies dealing in inflammable items to be well-equipped with safety measures to tackle emergency incidents.

As part of the event, a tree plantation drive was also held in the premises of IOCL, Imphal Deport.

Staff of IOCL; retailers and distributors of the State were also present at the event.
